What it is

What is a schema markup generator?

A schema markup generator is a tool that builds structured data for you. You fill in a form, and it outputs valid JSON-LD that you can paste into your page, with no coding needed. Structured data tells search engines and AI tools what a page is about in a format they read without guessing.

Types

Which schema types does it cover?

TypesWhat they doHow to use them
Article, Product, LocalBusinessThe types that most often earn rich results: dates and authors, price and stars, local panels.Fill the required fields and as many recommended ones as you honestly can.
FAQ, HowTo, ReviewQuestion lists, step lists and ratings.Only mark up content that is visible on the page.
Organization, Person, WebSiteEntity types. They tell search engines and AI tools who you are.Add sameAs profile links and link them with @graph.
BreadcrumbList, Service, SoftwareApplication, EventPaths, services, apps and dated events.Use one block per page and keep it matching the visible content.
Fields

Required and recommended fields for each schema type

Each field in the generator is marked Required, Recommended or Optional. "Required" here means the tool will not call a type complete without it. Google's own requirements differ by type and change over time, so check Google's structured data gallery for the rich result you want.

TypeRequired in this toolRecommended

FAQAt least one question and answerNone. Only mark up questions visible on the page.
OrganizationName, URL, logoDescription, profile links (sameAs)
ReviewItem name, item type, reviewer, ratingBest rating, review text, date, item image
HowToTitle, at least 2 stepsDescription, image, total time
PersonFull nameProfile URL, photo, job title, employer, profile links

ServiceService name, provider nameService type, description, provider URL, area served, page URL

FAQ and HowTo markup are still valid, but Google no longer gives them the rich results they once had. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in search on May 7, 2026, and cut back HowTo rich results in 2023. Build them for other readers of the page, not for a search feature.

Features

What the schema generator does while you type

Completeness meter

The meter shows how much of the type you have filled in. Required fields count double and recommended fields count once, so the percentage rises fastest when you fill the required ones first.

Live field checks

Under each field the tool flags mistakes as you type, so you fix them before you copy anything:

  • URLs must be complete, starting with https://.
  • Dates must be YYYY-MM-DD, and the modified date should not be earlier than the published date.
  • Prices must be plain numbers, and currency must be a 3-letter code such as USD or INR.
  • Country codes must be 2 letters, such as IN or US.
  • A rating must sit between the best and worst rating, which default to 5 and 1.
  • A review count must be at least 1, so leave it empty if there are no reviews.
  • Headlines over 110 characters, phone numbers that look too short, and descriptions over 500 characters get a warning.

Import from a URL

Paste a page address and the tool reads its title, headings, description, image, author, dates, logo and any schema already on the page, then fills the form and suggests a type. It also tells you which schema types are already on that page. If the page already has the same type, usually from an SEO plugin, replace that block instead of adding a second one. Import reads the HTML your server sends, so schema added later by JavaScript is not seen.

Search preview

The preview shows how your title, rating, price, dates or questions might look in a search result. It is illustrative only. Google decides when to show rich results.

Three output formats

Copy the result as an HTML script tag, as plain JSON for APIs, a headless CMS or Google Tag Manager, or as a WordPress PHP snippet that prints the schema only on the page path you enter. The output escapes angle brackets so it is safe to paste into a page. The Copy and validate button copies the code and opens the Schema Markup Validator.

FAQ

FAQ schema generator: how to create FAQPage markup

Choose the FAQ type, add each question and its answer, and copy the code. The tool builds a FAQPage with one Question and one acceptedAnswer for every row.

Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in search on May 7, 2026, for all sites, so FAQ schema will not give you expandable questions in results. Google's documentation says the markup can stay in place. Only mark up questions and answers that are visible on the page.

Example output for one question:

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "FAQPage",
  "mainEntity": [
    {
      "@type": "Question",
      "name": "How long does delivery take?",
      "acceptedAnswer": {
        "@type": "Answer",
        "text": "Orders arrive in 3 to 5 working days."
      }
    }
  ]
}
</script>
Local

LocalBusiness schema generator

Pick a business type, such as Dentist, Restaurant or Store, and fill in the name, address, phone, hours and profile links. Add latitude and longitude for an exact map pin. Enter opening hours one rule per line, such as Mo-Fr 09:00-18:00. Use the same name, address and phone number that appear on your site and your Google Business Profile.

Example output with placeholder data:

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "Dentist",
  "name": "Example Dental Clinic",
  "url": "https://www.example.com/",
  "telephone": "+91 98765 43210",
  "address": {
    "@type": "PostalAddress",
    "streetAddress": "12 Example Road",
    "addressLocality": "Ahmedabad",
    "addressRegion": "Gujarat",
    "postalCode": "380001",
    "addressCountry": "IN"
  },
  "openingHours": ["Mo-Sa 09:00-18:00"]
}
</script>
Content and commerce

Article and Product schema generators

Article schema

Choose Article, Blog post or News article, then add the headline, image, author, publish and modified dates, and publisher. Use the real publish and update dates. Change the modified date only when you change the content in a meaningful way.

Product schema

Add the product name, price, currency, availability, brand and SKU. Add a rating and review count only if they come from real reviews that visitors can see on the page. A review count of 0 is not valid, so leave both fields empty if there are no reviews yet.

Example Product output with placeholder data:

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "Product",
  "name": "Example Running Shoe",
  "brand": { "@type": "Brand", "name": "Example" },
  "sku": "EX-1001",
  "offers": {
    "@type": "Offer",
    "priceCurrency": "INR",
    "price": 1499,
    "availability": "https://schema.org/InStock"
  }
}
</script>
Connected data

Link your schema with @graph

Tick "Link to my site with @graph" and enter your site URL, name and logo. The tool then adds an Organization and a WebSite to your markup and gives each item a stable @id, so the pieces point at each other instead of repeating the same details. For example, an Article can name the Organization as its publisher by reference.

{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@graph": [
    { "@type": "Article", "@id": "https://example.com/post/#article",
      "headline": "Example post",
      "publisher": { "@id": "https://example.com/#organization" },
      "isPartOf": { "@id": "https://example.com/#website" } },
    { "@type": "Organization", "@id": "https://example.com/#organization",
      "name": "Example", "url": "https://example.com/" },
    { "@type": "WebSite", "@id": "https://example.com/#website",
      "url": "https://example.com/", "name": "Example",
      "publisher": { "@id": "https://example.com/#organization" } }
  ]
}

If your SEO plugin already outputs an Organization or WebSite, do not add the same ones again. Check the finished page in the Schema Markup Validator, which flags duplicate IDs and repeated Organization items.

How to use it

How to generate schema markup

  1. Import a page URL to pre-fill the form, or pick a type and fill it in by hand.
  2. Watch the completeness meter. Fill the required fields first, then the recommended ones.
  3. Fix any red or amber notes under the fields.
  4. Copy the code as HTML, JSON or a WordPress snippet and paste it into the page.
  5. Run the page through the Schema Markup Validator and the Google Rich Results Test.

Where to paste the JSON-LD code

Google reads JSON-LD in the head or body of a page. The method depends on your platform:

  • WordPress with an SEO plugin: use the plugin's custom schema field if it has one, or a custom HTML block on the page. Avoid a second copy of a type the plugin already outputs.
  • WordPress with code: use the WordPress PHP output in a code snippets plugin or your theme. It prints the schema only on the path you set.
  • Elementor: add an HTML widget to the page and paste the script tag.
  • Shopify, Webflow, Wix: add the script tag through the platform's theme code, page custom code or an app that accepts code. Menu names change, so check the platform's help pages.
  • Google Tag Manager: use a Custom HTML tag with the script tag. Check that the schema appears in the rendered page before relying on it.

After publishing, run the live URL through the Schema Markup Validator and the Google Rich Results Test.

Limits

What this schema generator does not do

  • It covers 13 types. For Recipe, VideoObject, JobPosting or Course, write the JSON-LD by hand and check it in the Schema Markup Validator, which supports those types.
  • It builds one block per page. It does not insert code into your site.
  • It cannot guarantee a rich result. Google decides that.
  • Import reads raw HTML, so schema added by JavaScript and pages behind a login are not read.
  • The WordPress PHP output matches one page path, so use one snippet per page or add your own condition.
  • It does not know your content. You must check that every value matches what visitors see on the page.
FAQ

Schema generator FAQ

What is schema markup and why does it matter for SEO?

Schema markup is a standardized vocabulary from schema.org that you add to the code of a page so search engines can understand exactly what the content means, not just what it says. It does not directly boost rankings, but it makes pages eligible for rich results, such as star ratings and product pricing, which can improve click-through rate.

What is a schema markup generator?

A schema markup generator is a tool that builds structured data for you. You fill in a form, and it outputs valid JSON-LD that you can paste into your page, with no coding needed.

What is the difference between JSON-LD and microdata?

JSON-LD is a single script block kept separate from your visible HTML, so it is easier to add and maintain without touching your page layout. It is the format Google recommends and the one this tool generates.

Where do I paste the generated JSON-LD code?

Anywhere inside the head or body tag of the page works for Google. Most CMS platforms also have a custom-code or header-scripts field where you can paste it without editing template files.

Does adding schema markup guarantee rich results?

No. Valid schema is necessary but not sufficient. Google decides whether and when to show a rich result based on many factors, including content quality and search intent. Adding correct schema simply makes your page eligible.

Which schema types help most for SEO?

Product with ratings, LocalBusiness and Article tend to produce the most visible search enhancements. Organization and Review schema mainly help search engines understand entities and trust signals.

Can I use this with WordPress, Shopify or Webflow?

Yes. Copy the script tag and paste it into a custom HTML block, a header code field or your theme, depending on the platform. SEO plugins such as Rank Math and Yoast also have places for custom schema.

Should I use a generator or my SEO plugin?

Plugins generate schema automatically across a site, which is best for consistent markup. A generator is best for one-off pages or types your plugin does not cover. Avoid publishing two conflicting versions of the same schema on one page.

How do I test the schema I generated?

Copy the code, then check it in the Schema Markup Validator on this site for fields and values, and in the Google Rich Results Test to confirm eligibility.

Is this schema generator free and private?

Yes. It is free and needs no signup. The JSON-LD is built in your browser and nothing you type is stored. If you use Import from URL, our server fetches that public page to read it and does not keep it.

What is a schema generator?

A schema generator builds structured data from a form. You enter details such as a business name or product price, and it writes the JSON-LD code. This page is a schema generator for 13 types.

How do I create FAQ schema?

Pick the FAQ type, add each question and answer, and copy the code. Only include questions that appear on the page. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in 2026, but the markup is still valid and Google says it can stay in place.

How do I create LocalBusiness schema?

Pick the LocalBusiness type and a business subtype, then enter your name, address, phone, hours and profile links. Use the same details as your website and Google Business Profile.

Can I generate schema for a page that already has schema?

Yes, but check what is already there. Use Import, and the tool lists the types found. If your SEO plugin already outputs the same type, replace that block, because two copies can conflict.

What does the completeness percentage mean?

It shows how many of the type's required and recommended fields you filled in. Required fields count double. It measures what you entered, not whether Google will show a rich result.

What does the @graph option do?

It adds your Organization and WebSite to the output and links everything with shared IDs, so the page's markup describes one connected set of facts instead of separate pieces.

Can the generator read my existing page?

Yes. Import fetches a public page and fills in the title, description, image, author, dates, logo and existing schema types it finds, then suggests a schema type. Check each value before you copy it.

Why can't I enter a review count of 0?

Google needs at least one review to show a rating, so a count of 0 is not valid. Leave the rating and count empty until you have real reviews.

Is the schema generator output safe to paste?

The tool escapes angle brackets in the JSON so the script tag cannot be broken by your text. You are still responsible for checking that every value is true and visible on the page.

What should I do after generating schema?

Publish it, then validate the live page in the Schema Markup Validator and the Google Rich Results Test. Re-check after any theme or plugin change, because those can add duplicate schema.

Does schema markup help with AI search?

Google's guide to generative AI features says structured data isn't required for generative AI search and that there is no special schema.org markup to add. Schema still matters for the rich results Google supports. Other AI tools may treat it differently, so do not rely on it for citations.
